With 80 percent of precincts reporting, incumbent Democratic Chairman John Eaves leads Republican Earl Cooper, 58 percent to 42 percent.
In the race for south Fulton District 6, incumbent Democrat Emma Darnell is winning handily over Republican Abraham Watson, 89 percent to 11 percent.
9:23 p.m. Update: The latest results show incumbent Democrat John Eaves leads Republican Earl Cooper by a margin of 57 percent to 43 percent in the Fulton County Commission chairman’s race. Democrat Emma Darnell leads Republican Abraham Watson in the District 6 race by a margin of 88 percent to 12 percent. The races will determine whether Democrats or Republicans control county government.
9:04 p.m. The latest Fulton County election results show incumbent Democrat John Eaves maintaining a lead over Republican Earl Cooper in the chairman’s race.
Eaves led Cooper by a margin of 56 percent to 44 percent in the latest returns.
Elsewhere, incumbent Democratic Commissioner Emma Darnell led Republican Abraham Watson by a margin of 91 percent to 9 percent in the race to represent south Fulton District 6.
