Former Fulton County Manager and MARTA official Dwight Ferrell has landed a job running Cincinnati’s transit agency.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority hired Ferrell to be the agency’s CEO and general manager Tuesday. He’ll oversee regional bus service and Cincinnati’s streetcar system at an agency with a $93 million annual operating budget.
Ferrell spent a year as county manager before the Board of Commissioners fired him Oct. 1 amid complaints from the employees’ union that he was deaf to their concerns. Previously, Ferrell served as deputy general manager for MARTA and has worked for transit agencies in Dallas, Philadelphia and elsewhere.
Fulton County commissioners have taken no public action to replace Ferrell and may not until next year.
