Three months after Fulton County commissioners fired County Manager Dwight Ferrell, the county has formally posted his job.

The job announcement seeks candidates with a master’s degree in public or business administration and eight years of experience in local government, public policy development, economic development, planning or related experience and five years of supervisory experience. You can read the full job announcement here.

Commissioners fired Ferrell after only year on the job amid complaints from employees that he was deaf to their concerns. He just landed a new job running Cincinnati’s transit system.

Fulton County Finance Director Patrick O’Connor is serving as acting county manager and has expressed interest in keeping the job permanently. He was a finalist when Ferrell was hired in 2013.

Commission Chairman John Eaves has said he wants a national search for a new manager. But more recently talk has turned to hiring someone sooner rather than later. It took commissioners nine months to replace County Manager Zachary Williams, who left at the end of 2012.
