hit the grocery store while waiting on her daughter’s delayed school day to start. But half way to the store, she had to turn around and head home because of the road conditions.

“When we woke up it didn’t look like that much,” she said. “Then school was canceled and Mommy’s day is canceled because I work from home.”

A wintry mix of sleet, rain and snow began falling across the northern suburbs around 4 a.m. Tuesday, while snow was reported across the mountain counties. Drivers are urged to check current traffic conditions before leaving home. Read the full story and forecast.
