Snow in metro Atlanta: As of now, Hawks-Mavericks game to be played tonight

Tonight’s game between the Hawks and the Mavericks at Philips Arena remains as scheduled, according to the team.

The Hawks released the following statement Wednesday: “We are closely monitoring all weather alerts and updates. As of now, our game versus the Dallas Mavericks will take place at the scheduled time. If the game is postponed, it will be communicated with up-to-date information.” The game is scheduled at 7:30 p.m.

Metro Atlanta and the rest of north Georgia are bracing for an approaching storm that forecasters warned could begin moving into the state during the early afternoon hours and dump as much as 4 inches of snow to the northern suburbs and 8 inches to the mountain counties.

Staff writer Chris Vivlamore compiled this report.
