Snow in metro Atlanta: No school in Fulton on Thursday

School has been called off for Fulton County students on Thursday, the school system announced.

“Due to existing weather conditions, all Fulton County schools will be closed for students, teachers and most staff on Thursday, February 26. All 235 and 220 day employees should report to work at 11:00 a.m. or when conditions are safe for travel,” Wednesday’s news release said.

Snow is falling in some of the 50 counties under a winter storm warning through 10 a.m. Thursday. Gov. Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency for disaster preparedness starting at 2 p.m. Forecasters warn that the system could bring accumulations from around 2 inches in metro Atlanta to upwards of 6 inches in the mountain counties.
