Several defense attorneys of the APS defendants said they plan to appeal the guilty verdicts in the test cheating trial.
“I don’t see how you put educators in prison,” said Gerald Griggs.
George Lawson, who defended Michael Pitts, verbally sparred with reporters about some of the prosecution witnesses, whom he said did not give truthful testimony. He said there was no reason for his client to strike a plea deal before the trial.
“Would you plead guilty to something you didn’t do?,” Lawson asked.
