Atlanta schools judge calls defendant’s case “biggest tragedy”

Judge Jerry Baxter said he recently learned that Dana Evans, a former principal at Dobbs Elementary, was at one point a counselor for his son.

“I considered you a wonderful educator. I know about you,” Baxter said. “I think your case is probably the biggest tragedy of all of this, in my personal view just sitting up here.”

“I’m sorry, and I consider you a wonderful educator and that’s what makes it so sad. You were under so much pressure, you got a new job. My heart goes out to you.”
