Supporters of the 10 convicted educators scheduled to be sentenced today began speaking on their behalf, pleading with Judge Jerry Baxter to show leniency.
Cynthia May was an administrative assistant for regional director Sharon Davis-Williams.
“This is simply not the Dr. Williams I know and respect,” May said. I’ve never questioned her professionalism or her integrity. I’m pleading for you to show mercy to Dr. Williams.”
Kenneth L. Dollar, a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force, also spoke on behalf of the convicted educator.
“She is a person of high moral standards and character. I ask of you to grant her some leniency and allow her to return to her civilian life.”
