Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter sentenced former Atlanta Public Schools administrator Michael Pitts to seven years in prison for his racketeering conviction in the test-cheating trial.
“He was at the epicenter of the cheating,” Baxter said.
Pitts was also sentenced to 2,000 hours of community service and a $25,000 fine.
Pitts denied during the sentencing hearing he was involved or aware of cheating.
“Maybe I should have known,” he said.
