Former Atlanta Public Schools teacher Pamela Cleveland admitted her guilt in the test-cheating scandal in exchange for a lesser sentence of one year of home confinement, a $1,000 fine and 1,000 hours of community service.

Cleveland, a former teacher at Dunbar Elementary School, read a written apology to the community and the court for role in changing student answers on the state’s Criterion-Referenced Competency Test.

“I am guilty of the charges against me,” Cleveland said.

Cleveland faced up to 20 years in prison for her racketeering conviction.
