Atlanta police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a Georgia Army National Guardsman in August.
Harold Dodson, 21, is charged with murder in the killing of Atting Eminue, 24, of Lawrenceville. Dodson was arrested Oct. 23 and taken to Fulton County Jail.
Eminue was shot near the Peachtree-Pine homeless shelter early Aug. 30. Police said the shooting followed an argument. His family said Eminue had been trying to give away shoes to a homeless person prior to the altercation.
Eminue was an Amy sergeant who served three tours in Afghanistan, according to his family. He was a father to a 4-year-old boy, reported Channel 2 Action News, which said Eminue and his family came to the United States from Nigeria 15 years ago for a better life.
