One person is in custody and the search for several others continues after a frightening afternoon at Tri-Cities High School in East Point.
According to Channel 2 Action News, four people — who were not Tri-Cities students — entered the school. There were rumors at least one person may have had a weapon, the television station reported. Security confronted the intruders, who took off running out of the school. Officers caught one of them. The rest scattered through the surrounding neighborhood.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, Channel 2 reported. However, the school was temporarily placed on lockdown.
Fulton County Schools spokeswoman Susan Hale told Channel 2 the school released students, hallway by hallway, at 3:30 p.m., the normal dismissal time.
Tri-Cities is at 2575 Harris St.
