The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will hold a community meeting on the future of Turner Field at 6 p.m. Monday at Martin Street Church of God, 148 Glenwood Ave. SE, Atlanta.

Chairman John Eaves and Commissioners Marvin Arrington and Bob Ellis will listen to what residents have to say about the redevelopment of the property. Arrington and Ellis are members of the Atlanta-Fulton county Recreation Authority, which oversees the property.

The Braves are moving to a new Cobb County stadium and recently confirmed they will not renew their lease at Turner Field when it expires at the end of 2016.

Neighborhood residents have pressed for a greater say in the redevelopment of Turner Field. In September the County Commission adopted a resolution asking the recreation authority to seek public comment on the stadium’s future.
