In Tipp City, Ohio, a neighbor called police when he saw two men dangling from a backyard tree.
“My neighbors hung themselves,” the neighbor told a 911 operator. “I don’t know if they are still alive or not.” The men were father and son.
The Troy Daily News reports county coroner Dr. William Ginn ruled the deaths suicide.
“They had not been dead for very long when they were discovered,” he added. Ginn confirmed autopsies will be performed on both bodies with results available in two months.
Last month a body found hanging on a fence was first thought to be a Halloween decoration. Instead, it was a young woman who was trying to get away from the man who eventually killed her when her sleeve became stuck in the fence.
