A former Waleska city manager was arrested Thursday following a four-week investigation into missing city funds, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Snow in metro Atlanta: Clayton government offices delayed until 10 a.m. today

Clayton County government offices will later than normal this morning. Employees should report to work at 10 a.m.

The winter storm that dumped more than a half-foot of snow across parts of north Georgia Wednesday and overnight has moved out of the state. While metro Atlanta interstates are wet but mostly ice free, roads in far northern suburbs were still covered with ice and snow early Thursday morning. Full story.

The city of Suwanee will delay opening its government offices and municipal courts on Thursday.

Both will open at noon.

Municipal court cases scheduled for Thursday morning are rescheduled for March 17.  Afternoon cases are expected to take place as scheduled.

The highly-anticipated Clayton County State of the County address scheduled for Thursday has been rescheduled for March 26 due to the pending inclement weather.
Clayton Chairman Jeff Turner will discuss the county’s return to public transit, 2015 SPLOST projects, economic development and other highlights and challenges next month at Clayton State University’s Student Activity Center. The event runs from 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
