Man shot to death outside DeKalb apartment

Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead outside a DeKalb County apartment Friday.

According to Channel 2 Action News, someone came up to a car outside the Waterford Manor apartment complex on Covington Highway and tried to rob the man. An argument followed, and the shooter fired into the car, police told the news station.

The man was shot multiple times.

The shooter remains at large.

Several children and a man were found dead in a Gwinnett County home Thursday morning and a woman was detained in connection with the “horrendous crime,” Gwinnett police said.

Officers are at the home on Emory Lane in Loganville after responding to a stabbing call, Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

“Specifics on the ages of the children or a motive for this horrendous crime is still unknown,” Pihera said.

A tornado was spotted about 4 p.m. near Albany and a watch is in effect for Cobb, Fulton and other counties until 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Albany Deputy Fire Chief Sebon Burns said a tornado touched down around 3 p.m. No fatalities had been reported by 4:30 p.m., but lots of people were injured.
He said they are rescuing people from homes.
